What antivirus do you use?

Postby Doks » Tue Dec 08, 2009 12:23 pm

I use Norton, but I don't like it to be honest. I only use it because I got it free. I don't really need antivirus because I do not usually download dangerous files etc.

Norton is really the last choice you should make.

I think you should get AVG Free...I'm using the paid version and I'm really satisfied with it.

Also, you do not need to download "dangerous files" to get a virus.
AVG also warns you if a website you're about to enter may be a threat towards your computer

I use Zone Alarm, and it scans on a regular basis. I did use Avast but I got rid of it because it only scanned on demand, and I kept forgetting.

I use Symantec AntiVirus. The one the military uses. I got it from my dad. He downloaded it to a thumb drive off his computer on base and let me download it to my Lap top. Its the best AntiVirus out there.

Norton is possibly the worst choice for antivirus. I myself use Mcafee. But there are some good free ones out there avast, comodo and avg.

Agreed :)

At the moment however I run Linux on my desktop so I don't really need anti-virus :P

In my opinion, the best anti-virus is common sense :D Don't go looking for viruses and have constant vigilance and you'll be fine :)

Hi

I use Nod32 , its the best commercial anti virus imo, it doesnt slow down your computer and picks up everything that needs to be picked up.

Although i would recommend just the antivirus , not the firewall and everything as well . If you have a router then there is no need for the firewall

Thanks
