Do you find it easier to do well with adsense over affiliate sales?

My thinking is that when people feel that they are being sold something, they tend to get defensive, however if you offer information for free, and have some relevant Google ads, you will get a few clicks.

On average, do you think its easier to do well with affiliate products, or adsense? Notice I say easier, and not 'better'
